Predicting Crazy 2020 NFL Draft Moves and Who Will Get Traded
The NFL draft is fast approaching! We will be seeing lots of rumors over the next few days about what players each team wants. Here are some crazy transactions that could get players traded during the upcoming NFL draft.
Cowboys draft Tua Tagovailoa
It’s fair to question if Dak Prescott is the Cowboys quarterback of the future being that the two sides have not reached an agreement on a long-term contract. There is a chance that Tua Tagovailoa could fall in the draft because of his injury concerns. Could the Cowboys take the former Alabama superstar if he falls to the 17th pick since we can’t definitively say they are all in on Dak Prescott? Remember, Tua has said the Cowboys are the team he most wants to be drafted by.
Jamal Adams traded to the Baltimore Ravens for the 28th and 55th overall picks along with a 2021 2nd rounder
Trade rumors involving Jamal Adams occurred this past season and they have started to come back up. With two picks in the second, third, and fourth rounds, the Ravens can easily afford to give up multiple draft picks. With Lamar Jackson on a rookie deal, the team would be able to pay Adams the money he wants. A secondary featuring Marlon Humphrey, Marcus Peters, Earl Thomas, and Jamal Adams would be terrifying.
Odell Beckham traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for the 21st overall pick.
The Philadelphia Eagles are in desperate need of wide receiver help. The New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, and Denver Broncos are all teams picking ahead of the Eagles who could also be looking to select a wide receiver. Because of that, the consensus top three receivers in Jerry Jeudy, Ceedee Lamb, and Henry Ruggs could all be gone by the team the Eagles are ready to pick. Since the Eagles feel they can compete for a Super Bowl right now, they may prefer an instant contributor over a rookie. The Cleveland Browns have denied that they are looking to trade Odell, but so did the New York Giants before eventually parting ways with him.
Kansas City Chiefs trade up for Henry Ruggs
The Chiefs reportedly are interested in the speedy Alabama wide receiver Henry Ruggs. The Chiefs already have a plethora of offensive weapons and adding Ruggs would make them even more dynamic.
San Francisco 49ers draft Jerry Jeudy
The 49ers ranked 4th in yards per game and 2nd in points per game this past season despite not having a true #1 wide receiver. Kyle Shanahan’s offense would be even more explosive if they are able to add Jerry Jeudy, who many NFL scouts feel is the next Odell Beckham or Antonio Brown.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers draft Jordan Love
The Buccaneers made a big splash this offseason by signing Tom Brady. The former New England Patriot is expected to start these next two seasons, but what will happen after those two seasons? Since Brady will be 43 years of age by the time next season starts, it isn’t too early for the Buccaneers to think about his successor. Jordan Love has drawn comparisons to Patrick Mahomes and the former Utah State Aggie could be available at #14. Love could be a special player after sitting behind and learning from Brady for two seasons.
Arizona Cardinals draft CeeDee Lamb
The Arizona Cardinals recently acquired star wide receiver, Deandre Hopkins. Despite that, Kyler Murray wants the Cardinals to draft his former Oklahoma teammate. The Cardinals would be wise to use this pick on an offensive lineman, but watching Kyler throw to Hopkins and CeeDee Lamb in Kliff Kingsburys would be entertaining.
Deshaun Watson traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars for the 9th and 20th overall picks along with a 2021 2nd rounder and Leonard Fournette.
This would be crazy, but Bill O’Brien has done crazy things. The Jaguars would have their new franchise quarterback while the Texans would receive a plethora of picks and Leonard Fournette because Bill O’Brien loves acquiring running backs.
Yannick Ngakoue traded to the Seattle Seahawks for the 27th overall pick
Yannick Ngakoue has made it clear that he wants the Jaguars to trade him. The Seahawks need help on the defensive side of the ball, especially since they may not be able to retain Jadaveon Clowney. Ngakoue is only 25 years of age and would immediately upgrade Seattle’s defense.
