Trebek was known to have a little fun when participants were completely clueless about a particular topic. Especially when it was the last one left on the board. Hip-Hop culture was profoundly ingrained within the fabric of Jeopardy! Anytime hip-hop was a topic on the board, Trebek used the time to flex his ability to flow. Of course, while still preserving a level of professionalism. Admittingly so, Alex wasn’t the greatest rapper. However, he loved it when the topic appeared. Hearing him rap along with the material created memorable television.

One of Trebek’s most warming qualities was his ability to make the crowd laugh. No matter the topic, his quick wit would generate a one-liner on par with the category. Listen to Trebek as he implies the contestants’ level of friskiness.

The three biggest winners in the history of the show got together to find out who was the greatest contestant of all time. Throughout the episode, the contestants played off of Alex and went back and forth exchanging bits. However, two of the contestants got the last laugh when they roasted one of their fellow contestants, a task usually reserved for Trebek.
In Remembrance of Alex Trebek
Trebek’s calm demeanor and quick wit will go down in history. The legacy he created resembles and deserves the title of the greatest game show host of all-time. Furthermore, it’s unknown if the show will continue in his honor or cease to exist. However, there will never be another television host as iconic as Alex Trebek.
