Batman: The Long Halloween Part One (Review)

Based on the critically claimed comic of the same name, “Batman, The Long Halloween part one” tells the story of Batman early on in his career trying to catch a serial killer. Additionally, Batman has plans to reveal the identity of this mysterious figure to the citizens of Gotham City.
Batman; The Long Halloween Part One Review
The movie does an excellent job adapting the comic into an animated film. The voice acting is superb, especially considering the talent behind it. Naya Rivera’s work as Catwoman, in particular, was a stand-out role of part one.
She portrayed the character perfectly throughout the entire film, which showcases the range of the late actress. Josh Duhamel also shined in his role as Harvey Dent, another major highlight of the movie with his voice acting.
The animation, as usual with the DC Animated Universe, was on point. So far, it’s the best animated movie of the DC Animated Universe since their reboot.
The plot of the film is consistently engaging. It moves at an incredible pace, and the universe of Batman feels brand new. Throughout the film, unique parts of Gotham appear with a lot to uncover.
The only negative of this movie is cutting into two parts. It would’ve been better to keep both legs together. I guess the studio didn’t want a too-long film, but it would’ve worked on this case to keep them together.
This movie is definitely worth watching. If you are a huge Batman fan, you are going to like this movie. I highly recommend watching Batman Year One before as a way to enhance the viewing experience.
Part two of the film will be released on July 27. If part one of Batman: The Long Halloween is any indication of how the series continues, it’s safe to say that the DC Animated Universe is in great hands moving forward.
