Oscar De La Hoya Shares Story of First Shrooms Trip: “It’s beautiful, it’s like Finding Nemo”
Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya was excited to share the story of his first shrooms trip. Speaking with none other than Mike Tyson, the pair traded stories about their experiences.
Hallucinogenics are becoming exceedingly popular as more people become open to sharing their experiences with the drugs. Mushrooms, in particular, are widely celebrated in modern times by several top athletes and prominent celebrities/advocates such as Joe Rogan.
De La Hoya Tells Shrooms Story
In a recent episode of “Hot Boxin’ with Mike Tyson,” Oscar De La Hoya opened up about his experiences with the drug. He spoke about his shroom trip with a Shaman from the comfort of his own home.
“She gives me this microdose and I take them,” De La Hoya said. “She starts talking to me about my past. Telling me what affects me as a kid.”
He then began to set the mood as the Shamen lit candles inside of the room. Making the experience as comfortable as possible, Oscar started to document his hallucinations.
“I close my eyes and I turned into a substance. I got out of my body. Started floating, like in the galaxy. Then all of a sudden, I dive into the ocean. It was like I’m water. It’s beautiful, it’s like Finding Nemo. I keep going down and all of a sudden I stop, and I’m looking but its like I’m part of the water.”
Finding Forgiveness
As he kept tripping ( swimming), he spoke about the presents he found lodged carefully between colorful seaweed. Oscar felt that the present was his mother, who passed away in the early 90s.
It was at that moment, where Oscar finally felt that his mother forgave him. However, Oscar didn’t say why he searched for forgiveness from his mother for so long.
Fortunately, with psychedelic medicine, “The Golden Boy” overcame generational trauma and plotted the path for the rest of his life.
